The little limey has saved the day so many times, proved it's self over and over, and is truly a must have in everyone's fly box!  It doesn't happen very often, but when the trout get focused on the tiny green pupae if you don't have something that fits the bill you're going to find yourself sitting on the side lines instead of in the game! When it does happen the fly we reach for is the Little Limey! As with all of our flies we tie the Little Limey Chironomid Pupa the same for you as we do for ourselves, including on a high quality hook and with a full body KRAZY glue coating for extra strength and sheen! The Teeny Greeny is another specialty chironomid pattern that is a must have for when the bows key in on these small grass green chironomd pupae! Like the Little Limey, the Teeny Greeny has proven it's self indispensable and has earned a permanent home in our fly boxes. The Teeny Greeny also doubles well as a chaoborus pupa and has put a few fish in the net when these chironomid cousins are keeping the trout occupied! When they're gassing up, but not yet super shiny, it's time for the BDC chironomid! The Double Double Chironomid Pupa ... a true Canadian classic and one of our top producers! This grey phase chrony started out as a typical single ribber but was tweaked over time with a smaller silver follower tucked in tight to make the original rib POP.  The result, a very natural chironomid pupa imitation with just enough shine to add to it's attractiveness without losing its subtlety.  As with all the flies we offer, the Double Double Chironomid pupa is tied for you with the exact same materials, and in the exact same manner (including quality 2X hooks & a full body coating of KRAZY glue) as we tie for ourselves. A well proven chironomid pupa pattern available in two bead head styles (black & white) and in three effective sizes (#14, #16 & #18).

An oldie but a goodie, the Peaches & Green chironomid pupae represents brown/olive chironomid pupae as they are just beginning to gas up to emerge. The brilliant white bead head does a great job representing gills, attracting trout and getting/keeping the fly in the zone. The body material "shape shifts" depending on how the light hits it adding to its allure!  As with all of our flies the P&G is the exact same pattern, tied the with the exact same materials and in the exact same manner (including a full coating of krazy glue!), as  we use ourselves here on the trophy trout waters of the beautiful BC Interior. Not much to say about the Olive King chironomid pupae fly except that when the fish tune into them you better have some the fly box! Tied on quality 2X hooks, doused in KRAZY glue and available in the three (3) sizes (#14, #16 & #18) necessary to cover all your golden olive needs! :)

The BOC series of chironomid pupa fly is a super effective, "on the bottom" imitator where fish typically feed on darker pupae! But don't be fooled as the BOC's have also proven very effective mid column as well! If the bows are stuffed with pupae but not very many are popping tie on a BOC and get it down deep ... oh and hang on! Elvis is in the building! OK, to be clear, not the real Elvis (which is a cronie fly developed by the one & only Mr. John Kent) but a tweaked version that we have found to be a bit more effective in the stillwaters that we target.
